clutch lining

I just bought a used Vision 50 Ultimate and this is my first nitro heli. I stripped it down and realized that there was no lining on the clutch bell housing and the clutch had been engaged directly on the metal. Anyway, I am replacing the clutch and housing, and the original directions show using an epoxy on the lining. What type of epoxy should I use? I bought the liner tool but didn't see the epoxy and want to ensure that I am using the correct epoxy. Thanks.

I used standard 30 min. epoxy. I had to trim about a 1/16 from the length of the lining, it was a bit to long to fit inside the bell without overlap. A couple trial fits later, I was happy. I found the liner tool that came with my kit worthless. I could never get it expand properly and evenly, so I ditched that idea and wrapped the clutch with a few rounds of 1/4" painters tape. Couple trial fits then it was time for epoxy. Smeared a small amount of epoxy on the backside of the liner, fitted it along with the tape wrapped clutch. When cured remove clutch and tape. Worked perfectly.

I use 5min epoxy. If you have the clutch lining tool this is perfect. within 5 minutes your ready to go. I wouldnt got anything less then 5 though.

i thought the extra lining was to stop the clutch shoe from spreading out too far causing it permanently deform. it might be tight at first with the extra lining but soon wears in.
