That would be acceptable to me as well.


You do not have a REX 3

You have a REX 3 A20

Those antennas were/are in use on the larger R-series receivers.

I have them on R10 receivers.

I wouldn't modify them. If they don't fit, change the receiver to something that does.

If the internals in that receiver are the same as a REX 3, I don't see why you couldn't shorten the wire, cut off the correct amount of shielding, and use it like a regular REX 3. I would ask Jetiabout this first, though. Heli's don't go so far away that the small loss of gain would be a problem. Especially if all the other kinds of REX 3s don't use those sleeves.

That is fully working solution. I just shortened one receivers antennas and measured the bare part being 29.8mm. (EU receiver)

I ended up just putting this REX3 A20 on a different model that is more accepting of the antennas.
