There are usually several vendors on site, parts and kits galore! Food can be purchased on site and you are just minutes away from many restaurants.

Best day is Saturday, but anytime from Wednesday through Sunday is good.

Having just moved to Birmingham and also just getting into the hobby, I am looking forward to attending my first Fun Fly! Will be bringing a friend that is just getting started in the hobby as well. Does Birmingham Helicopter Modelers have a website? I should be getting started on my first build with a new TRex 450 in the next week or so and it would be great to have someone look over everything once finished to make sure everything is set up properly.

Thanks,

Brooks

BHM does not have a website. We use to have one several years ago, but it was maintained up to date so we decided to do away with it,
Come out of the field if your in Bham area. It is located in the south west end of Jefferson County in Bessemer just off I -459. The address for the field is located in the first post of this thread. That is the address of the property owner, the house is located about 1/4 mile from the flying field. You can't miss it if you stay on Dickie Springs road.

Starting to gear up for the event. Looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting some new friends.

Hey Brooks, come check it out! This is a great event. Good folks, good times and great flying. I come from Ohio for this one and it's well worth the 12hr drive. I can't wait!

Here is the rates at the Sleep Inn and Comfort Inn. The Sleep Inn is located approx 2 miles from the field at Exit 6 on I-459. The Comfort Inn is located approx 6 miles from the field at Exit 108 on I-59/20.

We would be glad to host your friends and colleagues at either hotel , rate will stay the same as previous years $50 + tax at sleep inn and $65 plus tax at comfort inn. Just let us know if your are confirmed with the march 18th-20 2011 dates so we can get the rates setup. Your guest will have to call the hotel directly to receive the rate.

So call the motels and ask for Helicopter event rates.
Preparation for the 17th Annual event is going great. Items are starting to be delivered to me for pilot raffle prizes. It is looking like it is going to be another fantastic Birmingham event. Looking forward to seeing everyone in a couple months.

No I never really know who is attending till they show up. LOL In the pass years we have had sponsored/representative pilots from nearly every manufacturer. There is a few of the well known pilots that have told me that they plan to be at the event. But won't know for sure till they show up. Same way it has been in pass years.
