Default Bavarian Demon ADVICE

Hi all,

I've been using the iKON flybarless system with great success on my electric helis. I tried installing an iKON on my TREX 600 nitro, but I can't get the auto-leveling feature to work. It seems that the vibration of the nitro engine screws up the auto-leveling feature.

I'm guessing that it's best to use the iKON only on electric models.

With a 600 size nitro machine, I'm quite concerned with safety, and avoiding crashes. I've been doing some research, and it appears that the Bavarian Demon Rigid would be the best choice for safety, stabilization, and auto-leveling of the heli.

Can anyone tel me the difference between the Bavarian Demon Rigid V.2, the Bavarian Demon 3SX and the Heli Command Rigid V.2?

The units look different, but it appears that they all 3 have the same features. There is also quite a larg price difference between the 3 units.

Helicommand Rigid $372
Bavarian Demon Rigid $439
Bavarian Demon 3SX $499

Does anyone have any experience or advice on these three units? Naturally, I would like to get the best "bang for my buck," and buy the cheapest unit possible. But if the more expensive units are better in some way, I would prefer to buy the right unit the first time, instead of buying an inferior unit, just because it was cheap!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks! Joe

Suggest you pose your inquire on the Helicommand forum......

Bavarian hardware is discussed there.

The 3sX has the best rescue/bailout in the industry. If it saves you from just one crash of your 600N then you're already well ahead $$$ wise over the other two.

It'll self level or rescue (self level with collective pitch) either upright or inverted.

I wouldn't fly a heli without one anymore - in fact just this morning it saved my 450 inverted about 10 feet off the ground when I cocked something up.

Not personally familiar with the IKON but as for any stabilisation system vibration isolation is key. The trick, before giving up, is to find a suitable location and use GEL padding it may even require 2 layers and then very important is to tie down with Velcro strap as you don't want the unit to wobble about.

Colin,
That is just what I have been wanting to hear. So now off to find a 3Sx.

Does anyone have a good deal on them, or around Christmas will they go on sale.?
