Default HEEEELP!! frenzy 50e headspeed

Hi, I just ordered a frenzy 50 e with scorpion 630kv 12s motor. How the heck am I gonna set up the headspeed???? On a calculator it says 3000 rpm, the heli would self destruct? How are you guys doing your setup?

Assuming:
40C battery
10 teeth pinion.
90 % efficiency

Result for calculation:
Estimated lowest voltage during flight: 41,40
Lowest RPM (due to voltage and efficiency) : 2630

(calculated for 100% throttle curve)
Hover RPM at beginning of flight: 3327
Hover RPM at middle of flight: 3064
Hover RPM at end of flight: 2957

Thanks,
Jerry

I used an RJX 93 tooth main gear on mine to get better ratio. Running on 8s by 2 4s 5000mah a 880kv motor with a head speed of 2200. You have to space out the mixer arms as it will hit the modified main gear at the extreme throws. also need the pinion as it helicut gears. Very happy with this. Can post photo if you like.

If you haven't purchased batteries you can look at dropping the cell count. I run my 6hv on 10s and it is great. Are you going to run a governer? You may need to play with the pinion tooth count too. The pinion is the easiest way to manipulate the headspeed.

I eventually just went with an ultra low KV 700 size motor. a scorpion 4045 HKIII 330 It was mega expensive, but it should give plenty of power.

Cheers,
Jerry

HI,
Looks cool, just note you are trading off some performance and straining your ESC at that low %. 80% is the recommended minimum.

I will post a vid of mine. But my dog is sick at the moment and I can't go to the field
