Default Naza V2 Phantom replacing std receiver with OrangeRX R800X receiver

I used an AR8000 in first phantom to replace the v1.1.1 FASST receiver, have picked up a 2nd phantom, and wanted to try the OrangeRX R800X which looks like it will fit fine, and I like the long aerials (easier then mounting a sat receiver on leg).

It has an SBUS output, anyone using this with the Naza X2 (sbus) input to save running 6 servo leads between receiver and Naza ??

I am guessing you need to bind first then setup radio/failsafe positions, then rebind to set these in receiver ?

If they haven't fix the channel mapping for sbus on Spektrum then it really wont work. There will be some channel mapping issues.

If I remember correctly throttle and elev will be mapped incorrectly.

But ES3 if I was to take the receiver out of the Phantom and put it on the naza m lite on my F450 it would work with the stock Phantom transmitter?

They haven't and you remember correctly !!

Aileron is unmapped, and elevator maps to throttle, so Sbus with R800X is a non starter.

I connected up using traditional male to male servo leads (six connections) which works fine.

I use a heli model on DX8, U to ch6 and use pitch curves to select flight modes and throttle hold pitch for failsafe, gyro menu for IOC on ch5/X2 and ch8/knob for x1 so I can adjust gains in flight if needed.

The R800X is thinner but longer than the AR8000 so fits inside the case fine, and I ran both aerials down through one hole, one is taped along arm, the other taped into skid leg, so they are 90degree's apart, should give similar/identical range to the AR8000 without having to mount sat receiver on leg which looks untidy.

I made a video showing this under 4 minutes
