Try a all flat tc 65-65-65-65-65 and use the throttle hold to do the arming and not your stick.

You should get the 3 ascending beeps when you plug it in, once the 3n1 powers the servos will start to jitter, turning throttle hold off with be a solid low beep, turn it on and it will be a solid high beep then turn it off and it will start to spool up.

If your blades turn the wrong way its possible you have your motor wires reversed. If you had a toolstick you could reverse the direction in the software but you will need to swap two wires to make it the right direction if not.

I would try arming it the way I mentioned and see if it will stay powered up. You have a photo of the install?

I'm sorry, but the way you brought it up, I just had to laugh out loud! I can picture it too (not that I have any frame of reference in my own humble experience)!
