Hot setup on gt 5
Been playng a lot with the ace on my test machine compass 7hv with a 4035 powercroco spec motor edge 713's jive 120 hv. So here is some tips for a hot setup. I assume you've read the manual as well as the ac3x manual.
Also assuming you have done some flights and gains etc seems fine Just gonna run through the basics quickly 1.Get your overall gain adjustment working, i use it on my gyro settings, now set it at 100 percent for setup, value must be against black background (not white) 2.Go through system settings as per manual, once youre ready for parameter tweaking first go into swash menu and measure cyclic, i.e el and ail at mid stick with blades over boom (for ail) and el at 90 deg from boom. It's absolutely vital that you get a value of between 6 and 8 degrees here, if youre way out move the balls on the servo arm, if youre close lets say a little high go under servo adjustment in the gt 5 menu and adjust the travel (not limits) to achieve +_7deg cyclic. Do not at this time adjust anything in tx. This value is important for the algorithm of the gt 5 and is not max throw. Now go out of setup and look for binding at midstick, you should be ok if you had the values right. 3.Do a test flight, lets say your flip and roll rate is too slow, first up the el, ail values in setup, up to 127, let's say you still want more agility, now up dual rates to a value over 100, if you want lower go under 100. The nice thing here is you can have different agility at different headspeeds. You can instead of dual rates adjust travel but then you're stuck with one value and a lot more difficult to adjust as each servo's low and hi have to be adjusted 4 If the heli has a good cyclic rate but transitions are slow, i.e piro flips piro loops etc use the expo in gt 5 on default value and start with no expo in tx, then add to taste Following these guidelines the dual rate become the major adjustment for agility up or down and expo for transitional agility. 5. if you want paddle simulation which also give a feeling of "quicker" cyclic adjust the feedforward value, be careful with this though as you loose precision in piro flying, in my setup 93 is about the limit before it becomes too wobbly during piro flying. Since i adjusted the cyclic this way i have a lot more agility withouit a binding swash and ace performs better in all aspects. Njoy! |
