Funny, my JR horns fit perfectly on JR8717 - I can even get them off by hand

I will never be able to get my horns of my MKS servos - that's for sure!

BTW: both me and a flying comrade burned 2 x 8717 elevator servos on the Srimok! Same problem: I think we may have carried the heli holding swashplate, resulting in upper elevator armlink/turnbuckle to lock in overdrive, and then when initializing heli with low stick, servo got stuck and burned!

I think the "nifty little wrench" is supposed to help you tighten the nuts inside the bladegrip so that you can have as little play as possible in the thrustbearings..

It's also supplied with other tail center hub's from kasama : http://kasama.com/index.php?option=c...en&p=236&sub=3

Yep, that's the fancy 2,4 GHz 90 degrees double antenna holder you see on some of Mr. Kasamas helicopters. It can be put on as a replacement for the wide spacer (left side, from back) holding the rudder arm.

I'm going to use it, it looks sort a "porn"

Ive only just started flying but im tempted to buy one and build it up just so I can look at it and use it as motivation to learn quickly!!!

Thanks Mercuriell for your time and effort!!

Do it man! I bought a Bergen Intrepid gasser while my Raptor 50 was still on kindergarden hover sticks!
Only warning though: Be careful - 50-90 size electrics should be handled with extreme caution.

Finally got to have a test hover today - got a cyber conversion so I ripped off the flybar to put FBL on. This is one really thought out heli - the wiring is really easy and the ESC mounting so well thought out. Anyway had a quick test hover and all seemed good - tracking perfect and NO trim - amazing what you can do with the eye and a screwdriver stuck down the bolt holes of the grips to set zero trim

Gentle low impact video of me playing around with the Faifa yesterfday - - running HS low to prolong flight time - getting 5:00 for ~2600mAh - I'll get my hard hitting 3D buddy to give it a work out so I can catch a vid of it really getting up and going

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2VmzONIOoA[/ame]

ANy special reqests for vids ? set up on VBar ? otherwise I think we're pretty well done here

Great work John! So far your comparisons against the TDR? Or to early as of yet?

Interesting question Shawn - I am also considering the Joker3 in the mix -= they all have their own character and each is engineered to the highest standards - the transmission is different in all three - belt drive - intermediate shaft and pinion direct to main gear - each works very well each TT and tail gearbox is differerent but tail authority and smooth action is equal in each. The Germans use stick packs the Kasama is optimised for 6 packs.

They are all sensational to fly and look at in the air - I would very briefly say that performance equates to mast height - the TDR is lowesty and gives max forward speed and least cyclic speed - the Joker has the tallest and gives the most rapid cyclic but maybe the least FFFF although it is certainly no slouch here - the Srimok-E probably is mid way between the two - I haven't realised the Faifa's potential for FFF yet but it's gonna be fast - it also seems very frugal on power usage.

COnstruction wise I feel the Minicopter is the most durable, the Kasama the most ingenious and elegant and the TDR is built for the job of Max speed.

So they all fulfill their role - if you want a missile the TDR is the go - if you want a 3D durable bird the Joker is great and I feel the Faifa occupies the middle ground - sadly I'm gonna have to keep all three and fly each one depending on what mood I'm in

Your boys are good, 1 - 1, not bad at all, but what happen with Germany?

Thanks

Lost control for a couple of seconds with the Faifa - once when I was flying FFF with it cranked up - had tail oscillation which I think was too much tail gain. Yesterday my pro buddy was cracking it around with some hard climb out and 'square loops' same thing happened - 2 sec lockout - both times we managed to auto down safely after flicking TH.

Setup is VB with FASST, JIVE 120+ HV and 2 leads to Rx with BEC set at 5.6V - this setup has worked well on the TDR and the JOker - only difference here is the cyclic servos JR 8715 rather than BLS 351/451 and I think that made the difference. JR & Savvox servos are thought to be heavy current sinkers and I think either the VBAR browned out or else the BEC current cut out.

Question now is whether to put in a parallel flight NiCd as Kontronik advise, change to BLS servos or go separate lipo/regulator. FIrst off I'm gonna try the NiCd pack and meantime have ordered some BLS 351 for cyclic.

It's a commonly talked about topic but first hand experience I have had !
