Default My First Attempt At Building a Heli

Default Align 600n Skids.
Just got the 550x from a friend that upgraded to the 700x. I hated the skids on it so I got a set of Align 600n Skids for 13$ and drilled to fit on my 550x. Think it looks way better!! I might trim the Skid Shafts shorter. I don't know yet. the extra length on the back pay help from tail strikes on the ground. We will see.

Surprisingly yes! It came in tail first and stuck in the soft ground with the nose pointed straight up, I think that is what minimized the carnage. Only one damaged gear in the entire tail gear train (replacing all gears though) No damage at all to the frame, head or electronics and the canopy actually survived. The lipo was damaged so I discharged it to 0 volts and tossed it. If I didn't have to original blades, I don't think I would be rebuilding it though. Only going to cost me around $100.

I switched colors up a bit, Horizon has the optional red canopy on sale at a great price.So I pealed the green vinyl covering from the fin and boom. A little change is good.

Looking at gear being board, Had a coupon and a sale so I got a Castle BEC Pro. Not that there was anything wrong with the stock Eflight BEC.

Bought a new canopy on RCgroups that had never been used. It is great choice of colors on this one.


And here is a pic of my fleet



I have done some flying this spring and all of my birds fly great,but I must say the 550x is the Cadillac.
