same kv as the test winding.
8450rpm @ 10,6V = 790kv, 1,8A without load i hope it stops snowing this week |

Just send it to me and I will test it.

Just wondering but where did you get your wire from ...... I am thinking of building my own motor and have been reading up a lot laity : ) its still pretty confusing.
looking into the 5035 Kit : ) I have a 700e tho..... sorry to post here but its one of the first post i have seen some body building their own motor windings.

or www.elosal.de look for a company repairing three-phase AC motors, they should have enough wire... for this motor, i needed 6meters of wire. youŽll need a small wire to get the optimal winding, i took 0,5mm diameter. BTT: little log from yesterday: http://www.rc-heli-fan.org/download/...8770&mode=view current @ hovering 1700rpm 10A motor-rpm is a little soo small, with 100%, full batt, rpm is about 2700upm. perfect for stretched one... i have to try one winding less. weŽll see... today, the motor has to show his power! update this evenig, stay tuned |

Stupid question - are you going to take it apart and rewind or take another one keeping this one for stretched Protos?
I would suggest you do the second - if you don't want/need it for stretched (don't have/want to have in near future) - I'm sure that there are lots of people over here who would sponsor you buying another scorpion motor to rewind and even contribute (pay) towards your efforts to make this current one! Huh. I might be able to wind it even more - but even I'm getting lost in what I've just written LOL |

hi,
this motor stays like it is. i canŽt use it, right. do you want it? but wait a second, i have to fly it with a logger onboard, who knows what happens... my batts are charging, batt-heating-chest is heating and the logger is programmed. you have to wait a few hours, as soon as my fingers are unfreezed, iŽll upload the logs here. |

Thanks that's very helpful, How did you find out what size wire to go with and the optimal wind pattern for your desired kv? Is their a page on his web sight that i missed about this?

hi,
i made a test winding with 0,5mm wire. you have to measure the rpm and the batt-voltage. if rpm is too high, you need MORE windings, rpm too low, LESS windings. when i had the correct rpm, i measured the space in the stator, in 3026, you have about 5mm. 5mm/5windings= or you make something like this: "THE" page is www.powercroco.de, maybe youŽll need an translator, but the winding shemes are easy to understand without speaking german... ok, iŽm back from the field... 2000rpm and 2200rpm with 14° collectiv, 2400upm with 15° collective batts @30°C, just a few tictocs and elevator-simulating with pitch @ maximum i couldnŽt fly any longer... -6°C and an icey-cold wind... |

all right that's what i was getting is its kinda trial and error.
with Google translate over the past 3 days i have been reading his web sight.... their is a ton of information their ( have like 15 tabs open right now acutally ) Ive kinda got the winding system down, they dont appear to be that difficult, I am just trying to figure out now what size wire to go with and what winding combo to get about 520kv in a 5035 12n10p or maybe the 8p motor. anyway your build looks very nice : )

Quite impressive performance!

Alternatively - if I get to place I don't know what else to do - I'm going to PM you when I decide to make one myself! |

new kits are coming!
the rpm was a little too slow for the "normal" protos with 5+6D, iŽm gonna test 5+5D and 4+5D. i measured the HK3026-880kv and without load, it makes about 1000kv... i donŽt know why, but the kv rating must be indicated at a little bit of load... stay tuned, it will be impressive (i ordered a little thicker wire ) Greets from Black Forest |

Thanks for your help torro : ) Yesterday I ordered the 5035 6mm shaft 12N10P kit along with some 1.8mm wire : ) Am planning on doing a 4+4 x1.8mm YY wind, but if it does not look like enough wire is in their I may bump it up to a 4+5 or 5+5x1.8 YY wind and just go with a bigger pinion : )
Now If I do this would it have been better to go with 2mm wire and 4+4 with smaller pinion? I am still not getting witch is better, Higher kv and smaller pinion or lower kv + bigger pinion. With a higher kv you have less winds witch is less resistance so less heat. With a lower kv you have more winds so more resistance but the fact your using your current better as you just added another wire so a bigger magnetic field is created with the same current so it should be more effecent? then you have to factor in that a bigger pinion will use that higher torque to get the same power at the equal hs a smaller pinon and higher kv would have done. Also is it better to go YY winds or D winds as YY gives you 15% more speed at the expense of resistance it appears. and if you want we can take this to pm but it seems like every body could learn if we leave it out in the open, then again i dont want to clutter up your forum here.

you should have ordered 0.5mm wire for the test windings...
do you have some tools? you have to polish everything, that pushes the wire. i use a flat screwdriver, a plier, some broken carbon propellers and broken tail rotor blades. good luck! |

update time!!
5+5 without load = 886kv 4+5 without load = 990kv HK3026-880 without load = 1030kv. next winding will be 4+5x1,18 D |

What is it that you are trying to accomplish with different windings? Are you unwinding and then rewinding the same motor?
