Default Phoenix and Windows 10

Hey
Looking for some help to fix this. Had an issue with my computer, Updated to windows 10, Saved all my programs. Ended up running real slow and hanging up so I had to do a reinstall of Windows 10 but not a wipe. Had to reload a number of programs. Of course one is Phoenix. I use to be running version 5XX, no problems. I grabbed my original install disc which is version 2.5. When I try to open it on the desk top I get an error message, no window followed by the second message. I tried updating via DXsetup but I get the same issue. Any ideas on what else to try?

After trying a few things without success I came upon Dchance solution here https://www.helifreak.com/showpost.p...71&postcount=1. Get a new disk (version 5.5) as it seems to be working with fewer problems on windows 10. None available just now and they did not know when they would be getting them in. Dchance had a link from Phoenix so you could down load your own program and save it too disk, and yes it did take just a smidge over 2hrs. Saved it to my spare external hard drive and loaded it onto my desktop. Works like a charm.

That link works for me without any problems (I just tested it). It automatically started the download. Didn't ask me for a password.

<snip long sad tale of P/RC install woes on Win10>

This link allowed me to d/l the install files, but I wanna know if I can install from a thumb drive or a separate folder somewhere (i.e.: must I burn the files onto a DVD?)

Thanks!

Thank you! Surprisingly, it worked (not the install-from-a-thumb-drive part, but the install itself) I've been cursing P/RC - and by extension HH, lately - because I've been battling to get the app installed from a v3 DVD.

Cheers!
