Default Lotsa smoke - baaad

Plugged in my battery today and flipped the switch and smoke started pouring out. Flipped the switch off but have damage up past the battery switch to the first solder joint. Could the battery have caused this do you think? I'm kind of at a loss. I think the major components are ok - I get all the beeps im supposed to (plugged in another battery just for a sec to test). controls seem to work and rotors turn but didn't try taking it up to speed. Ideas welcomed!

You have a short somewhere. Either in the battery or one of your other electronics.

Default too much weight?

Update- I did have an iphone sitting on the front skids when i turned the switch to on. Could the extra weight of the iphone have caused this problem - just turning it on? i wouldn't think so but i am still very much the noob.

Thanks,
Fred
