Default iCharger 3010b power supply

Got the 3010b charger along with (2) 12s 5000 6s lipo sticks. I'm lookingfor a decent power supply and noticed Progressive rc had a a powermax pm3-75 power supply that's rated at 1000w, 75 amps along with 13.6v for $179. Not looking for the best and most expensive power supply, but something that's better than the 350 watt one I currently have. I'm open for suggestions if this isn't suitable.

Your charger can output 750W on 6S. That needs about 830W or so of input, at 90% efficiency.

With a 50A input limit on the charger, 13.6V gives you 680W input, or about 610W of output. You need 23V to hit the full 1000W output, per the graph on page 10 of the manual.

Personally, I would not go with that supply, especially at that price. 13.6V is too-low a voltage, it will severely limit your charger's output, and with a pair of 12S 5000's, I'd say you'll want all the power you can get.

I'd consider a $110, 24V, 75A, 1800W supply from DSW:

These are DPS-1200FB supplies (which you can buy for about $40 and modify yourself if you want). They have a reputation for being light and quiet.

Feathermerchantrc.com is also a good source of server supplies. They sell the same ones, or less-powerful options as well.

In either case, I'd suggest going 24V, not 12V. More power output, less current flow into the charger (which will help keep wires and the charger cooler), etc.

I'm using two DPS-800gba at 25.8vdc for a iCharger 306b, one DPS-800gba for my Hitec X4 80, and DPS-700cba for my 3D printer setup. DPS-800gba is rated at 70amps 850watts each...two of these should handle all your charging needs. Relatively cheap to pickup, easy to make into a power supply.
