Default 60B carb on OS50

What carb setting are you guys using on the 60B? I had to turn the low speed screw several turns out to get mine running right. I think about 8 turns or something. That doesnt sound right, are my settings way off? The mid is open about 2 turns, 1 turn on high needle. I'm running Magnum 30%, Enya 3 plug, and thunder tiger muffler.

I was running 1.5 turns +or- on the low end. The mid and high range settings sound where I was about though.

Clay,

I run mine at 2, 1, 2 and this right now seems to be running great. Im slowly turning in the highend and mid needle to improve the power... I have noticed that if I want more power from the mid I do need to bump out the low end a bit. I do think 8 turns out is probably alot but if the engine is running good and not hanging on auto's or bogging down in the low end then I stick with whats working... I have to say my 60b is giving me incredible run time and great power and boy does it ever smooth out the 50!!

Im heading out this afternoon to fly I'll report back what my needle settings are when I get finished... I run the exact same setup as you, so hopefully it will help u some.

When I was running mine the settings were the same as on my WC about 1.5 on the main and .5 out on mid using 20% WC I then went back to the stock setup with the "cat's eye" and it is just as good with a little better throttle response.

I replaced my 40E carb with a Supertiger used on the .60 and .91 engines, don't have the #, but it's only $35 from Tower Hobbies. It took a little work to tweak in, but now that it's set right, man, it's soooooooooo much more reliable and predictable than the stock carb. Makes very good power, and the motor is "happy" on the low end, in the middle, and on the high end. 8)
