Tail issue... Not the normal one...

I have two F6's. I am currently building my second one now. I did notice that the tail grips move like butter, and pitch slider moves like butter as well as the A-arm, but when I put the links on the grips, there is a bit of binding going on. Nothing I can change at all its just the way it is and I did notice that it puts a lot of pressure on the system and doesn't move smoothly. Any ideas?

I had that with mine when I first got it. Seemed like the moulding on the links was out of whack. I played around with it for a bit and then went for the pro pitch slider. That introduced it's own issues!

ok, a stupid reply perhaps, but do the links just need to be sized?

I know some on the main are a bit tight.

No, that isn't the issue. The links don't sit on square and end up twisting the whole assembly. A replacement set may fix it. Just saw on RR guy has same issue with his 55, speak to MA and they should sort it out for you.

Yeah, I talked to jeff. I am going to send my tail in to get it checked out. That is what I love about MA... Call them up, talk with them, they help you out right then and there.

Please post what they find and what the fix is because I am building one and it feels the same as what you are describing.

Will do. I did leave it in the truck yesterday trying to ship it and forgot. It got nice and hot and allows the plastic to soften. That seemed like it took care of it until it got cold again... I think that particular part on both of my tails is just slightly off.

Yes I see what you mean now.

On mine, the link part (442 in the manual--maybe what irishmatt is calling the "A arm") looks a bit cocked off to a side on the metal pins.

Rather odd looking.

What is slightly surprising is that with all the possible positioning of these link pieces, including the link on the ball and rotation of the 0440 arm, that this "cocking" isn't automatically eliminated. Must be my lack of cognitive 3D spatial ability!
