Default mCX2 will not fly straight

Been playing with this thing for the last few days. It's my first heli so it is getting abused a bit as I learn how to fly it properly. Anyway, I have noticed that it is not flying straight. The trim is fine however. I can hover it and it won't drift at all. However, as soon as I push forward on the right stick, it will begin to move forward and left at the same time. If I want to get it to fly straight, I have to push right on the stick a bit to counteract the leftward motion it wants to fly in.

Any thoughts? I took the shroud off to take a look at the inside of it, but I really don't know what I'm doing in there.

Really loving this hobby. Already been researching other birds to move up to when I get tired of this little guy.

What radio are you using? If it a DX6i or higher, enter these settings in MIX1.

MIX1

ELEV > AILE ACT
RATE L: 0% R:30%
Sw: On Trim:INH

Adjust the R: rate up or down until you get the thing flying straight!

Thanks for the reply. I'm actually using the RTF version so it's the stock radio that came with it. I have been looking at the DX6i and 7 the last couple of days. I may go ahead and bite the bullet and get one.

Doing a bit of searching, I see I'm not the only one with this issue: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...220881&page=16

Post #229 deals with this issue as well. Not sure if there was ever a fix found out for it.

I still have my mcx2 after 3 years.

Most often the won't fly straight issue is caused by the battery being pushed into a servo gear.

Remember, when the mcx2 was introduced, I think it came with a shorter 120 mah battery. The newer, higher mah, and longer batteries will hit a gear when pushed fully in.

If this is not the problem, check that

1. Both servos move the full range
2. Check for damage, broken servo arm, etc.
3. Check transmitter setup to include trim.
4. Check for other binding, with canopy, etc.

Good luck.

Default Server Pushrod Set

Try disconnecting the left Pushrod (right when looking head on) and turning two rotations counterclockwise which will lengthen the pushrod which may compensate for the left drift.
