Kontronik Pyro Comp 750-56 Heat Issues
Hello, everyone I was wondering if the temperature on my motor is ok. I have this motor on the TDR and Running a Kosmik 160 HV with 13 tooth pinion. I spooled the helicopter up with no blades on and the temperature was reading 85c (185 F) with no disk loading on it. I am worried that something is wrong or is this normal for this motor.

Not normal in this or any other lifetime. Is this motor brand new?

A friend had a similarly hot P750-56 that ended up having kV that was way off (around 600). This was a standard version, not a comp. We never determined whether the kV was a result of the heat or a contributor. The motor was rewound needed an extra turn to get to the correct kV value, suggesting weak magnets.

My 750-56 competition version temps are at 75 degrees Celsius. Please note, that ambient is at 40 degrees though. There where you at....I cant think that, that is normal. Your part of the world is much cooler and ambient is max max at 30 degrees

Ct,
Please contact Greg Alderman via Kontronik USA and explain to him what your motor is doing. He will likely want you to send it to him for check over. Please post back if you have difficulty getting onto contact with Greg. Ben Minor |
