Is it just me...?
Or do others wish V4.n never happened? The updates are so slow my computer gags, the display refresh is jerkier. IMHO it wasn't broke. Why did they "fix" it?

I've had no problems with it, but I'm running a fast machine as well so it could be covering it up...

I haven't had any issues since the latest update to n. Before it updated I had a lot of sound issues not working. Now it all seems back to normal.

i found this too. Fixed by running interlaced video within the graphics advanced setup. it recommends not to use it, and when off the motion is so jerky it suxs. Turn it on & smooth as.
as with updatesb, fast as. my problem is sound disappears after pausing the sim and then going back to it. Goodluck

My problem is a little different, I just updated to version 4.0.j, now after few minutes of simming, my computer dies instantly, like it was never on, I had no problem with version 3.0, I was wondering it is only me ?

V4 works fine for me...fast computer
Well, I'm new to Phoenix, but V 4 (latest update) works fine for me; but I have a fairly fast machine (Intel Core i7 2.5GHz). My only issue was getting the update function to work after my initial install. I tried downloading a version off the website but it always failed. The only way I got update to work was within the flight sim program itself and that took a number of attempts (probably because server was busy?) before it finally worked and didn't take an awfully long time. I'd also point out that I have a high speed cable connection because my daughter likes to engage in World of Warcraft whenever she has free time.

I had an conflict or something with the Logitech Set-Point software. I am not sure it was with Phoenix specifically, bit that is when most of the [program] crashes occurred, every now and then at shutdown. Knock on wood, it has seemed to be better since I uninstalled the Logitech software.

v4 works fine on my 2006 macbook pro, although it does have a reasonable stand alone graphic card. im pretty surprised how good it is on such a relatively old machine.
online, one bad thing ive noticed on v4 that didnt happen on v3 is it glitches very badly when someone enters a flying room or alters their model. i usually fly online so its a pain. and they still havnt improved the annoying voice chat feature that intermittently cuts off the sound, even when you've got it completely switched off. RANT....all it takes is somone to have their tv and their voice chat on, or some kid shouting in their house, and it completely ruins it for everyone SO PLEASE TURN IT OFF. voice chat is good, but probably best for communicating between those who want to use it on passworded sessions ENDRANT |
