Do TRex 500 canopy and landing gear fit the protos?

red stripes for visibility? Nice shots! You have a good cameraman there

Stock blades? I am about ready to put on my Curtis blades (new grips etc) but I like the orange stripe there.

Yes, stock SABs... It's just a stripe of Orastick self adhesive foil (fluorescent orange)! Looks nice in the sun!!!
I have a set of MAH-X-Blades at home, that I will try soon... Had VERY good flights with them on my Rex 500, compared to Align CFK!

Wanted to share a few pics of my build. Looking forward to getting some stick time on this heli!

The block was a little snug. Oddly enough the ball sizing tool flipped around in a drill worked nice to polish the inside.

Might just be the pictures but is that one of the old anodized aluminum mainshafts ?
Is this a recent kit ?
If it's an older one you're going to need the update pack.

The mainshafts are hollow steel now with a black finish against corrosion.

Default Protos #2 Picture, Feb-2009

Protos #2, I had a canopy spare and fins so that was nice.

Details:
Scorpion 3026-880kv Motor / 15T pinion
Kontronik Jazz 80-6-18 ESC
Duzi CNC Tensive Pullies all way around
Duzi CNC TR pulley
Inifinity CNC Tail Pitch Plate
Infinity CNC Flybar Carrier
Infinity CNC Mixer Set
Infinity CNC Washout
Inifinity CF Frameset
Infinity CF/Alu Boom
Futaba 9650 Servos "Metal Geared"
Futaba 9257 TR Servo
Spartan DS760 Gyro
Spektrum AR9000 "To get full 2048 resolution" DX7 SE compatable
SAB 425mm mains, 3K TR Blades
Fins are CF under the paint,
"Graphit 33 to belt, no static mods done presently."

Going to still clean up some wiring, but will get to it in due time. ... And no I will not fly with that tiny elastic, just gotta find a good strap that will work with this frame well.

This is not a Canomod canopy, it is stock FG canopy painted by Ace Helis.

With all the bling, what is the AUW now without lipo? Heavier than stock?

1735 grams with 3000mah 25C Outrage pack, that's rtf yes. The frameset is actually lighter than stock.

Outrage 3000 25c 6s pack is 438g, so without lipo it's 1297g. According to my notes stock Protos is 1140g. So an 157g increase in weight it seems.
