Default Pyro Motors & Logo 600 SX

Hi!

What kind of Pyro motor (Pyro 700-520 or 700-450) do you suggest to buy for 12s LOGO 600 SX?

What is the best pyro's shaft size(may be Long shaft)?

Thanx,
Laci

For 12S the 450kv motor is more appropriate. And get the long shaft version, as it is needed for the use with the counter bearing.

Counter bearing needs 34mm shaft. Pyro 700-52M has 32mm shaft. Long shaft version will be better but you have to cut the extra lenght to protect your lipos.

bavci, this is what Mikado says about CB upgrade:

"Important note: This upgrade set works only in connection with a motor shaft 6mm x 32mm long."

Where did you see that 34mm shaft ?

I think 32mm is for old counterbearing. With new maingear and pinion, lenght of counterbearing is increased. I measured my motors (HKII-4225-500KV) shaft and it is 34mm. It fits perfect on counterbearing.

Fingers crossed that the stock 32mm shaft fits well, as that would mean I could exchange motors with my TDR and get a Pyro 750 for my TDR

Hopefully Mikado has this correct on their website..

32mm will work but it will not completely seat in the bearing. I can attach a picture if you want.

I have the 700-45 long shaft with 12T. yes I had to cut 4-5 mm off the shaft.

78% for 2240HS with Helijive.

bavci, I believe you. But I recall I measured 32mm on my 4025-1100 and it seated fully into the CB so I wonder why it is not the same for you. Do you happen to use any shims ?

No shims. Maybe I measured wrong. But counterbearing design changed due to thicker main gear and pinion. I looked at your pictures and my motor shaft is a little out of counterbearing, it is not like yours. So probably you are right.

Make sure you Order the long shaft version of the pyro 52. Perfect fitment for the SX third counter bearing. You will need to order the 11t mode 1 pinion as well.

Hello TommyBear!

Do you use this Pyro 700-52 in your Logo600SX with 11t on 12s setup?

I could buy this kind of new Pyro 700-52LS motor in good price for my LOGO 600sx, but lot of people suggest Pyro 700-45LS in 12s setup....

Thanx,
Laci

There are some threads on this forum that people have gear stripping with this combo. I will suggest 12T with 700-45 motor. Main gear has more contact with this pinion. With lower KV, you will have less headspeed, but you don't need high headspeeds with a Logo.

Incorrect Meshing is what causes gear to strip. Never had a gear strip on my 11t pyro 52 jive Gov logos.
You should be able to run a 200 gsm paper between the gears without ripping. It is in the Mikado logo 600 3D manual.
With the SX 14mm main gear and pinion, it will be much harder to strip gears.
