Default Fast Piro Hover and Travel

I started working on fast piro hovers and piro travel and have a couple questions.

When I piro moderately (10 RPM), I control the heli at every point as I do on a slow piro hover of 1 RPM. When I get going faster, around 30 RPM, I tend to correct in one orientation only, but that can change as I see fit in the moment, but may last a few RPM's before I start drifting to a new orientation for correction. Is this normal?

When I travel and do piro circles, again, while I try to make corrections in all orientations, I end up finding it much easier to pick one and watch the heli spin around to that point each time before making the nest adjustment. Is this how it should be done, or should it be a cyclic "stir" approach?

Normal. Keep practicing and it will slowly evolve into a 'stir' and unconscious reaction to correct during all phases of the piro. It will take a very long time, however.

Keep at it! I've been doing piro tricks and travel for 6-8 months and am now comfortable for 90 rpm, but when I put the sim at 120 things start to fall apart still.

Default As always, it's all about practice, practice, practice

Yup, definitely takes a long time to speed up piros, so hang in there and don't get discouraged.

While going relatively slowly, try experimenting with elevator and aileron corrections seperately. Really see what each does. I suggest focusing on aileron corrections first, and look at the disk and the entire body of the heli. With elevator corrections, I think you end up focusing alot on the nose or tail. Try making corrections all around the 360.

I know it sounds funny, but let the heli fly, and make constant corrections, rather than flying it 360. Otherwise you'll probably overcorrect and chase your tail. You'll get to the point were you can make compound corrections, the aileron + elevator "stir", but just what it takes (tiny) to level the disk (or tilt the disk if you're trying to travel).

Work on upright/inverted and CW/CCW. It's hard doing all 4, and you may not think you're making progress, but I think you're better off than getting really good at only one first. But everyone learns differently.

Hang in there, with practice you'll get to the point where you're looking at the entire heli (not just the disk, nose, tail, etc) and are making corrections constantly, anywhere in the 360. It's hard to explain, but you'll get to the point where you're not consciously keying on the nose or tail while it's pirroing, yet you "see" the exact corrections you need to make all around the 360.
