iCharger 4010 Duo not sync charging

This is my second icharger 4010 (both new and still have them both) and for some reason neither will charger in synchronous mode. Im fairly sure they are set up correctly (my first one worked fine till it shorted out). not sure if it is software v2.12 or there is something im missing. It will act like its charging but its charging at 0.00 amps for about 30 seconds and then it says "connection check error". Is anyone else experiencing this or have figured out what is wrong?? any help would be great. Thanks

Are you using the special cables? Split main-lead, and split balance-lead cables, that join both outputs?

The charge profile you're using has been set to Synchronous mode?

I've only tried this once or twice, but it worked OK on my 308Duo.

Just found this.. I didn't watch it, maybe it will help. I've never tried sync mode and with 40A per channel don't ever plan to.

EDIT: well.. it's in german, it might still help watching the menus.. but search youtube and you will probably find something else.

Did you figure out the correct wiring to do synchronous charging? That video wasn't particularly helpful. A pic of a wiring setup would be great.

I may be able to get a picture later of my setup. But the wiring is straightforward:

You use a cable like this to tie the charger's two sets of 4mm output bullets together:

(You'd have to solder appropriate connectors onto the single-output end, typically 4mm female bullets).

And you use a cable like this to tie the charger's two sets of balance connectors together:

ProgressiveRC sells that type of cable in different cell-counts for those of us with a 308Duo or 406Duo:

Your charging board/cable plugs into these cables as normal.

Interestingly, someone just posted on RCGroups about Sync mode not working in 2.12, and that they updated to 2.13, which fixed the issue.

So perhaps everything was connected just fine, but there was a FW bug.

I'd tried Sync mode once, but don't remember which firmware version I was using at the time.
