Looks good, nox!
I tucked the excess wires from my Microbeast into that area of the frame behind where you have the receiver, then used a small strap around there to keep them in place. I'd be afraid the way you have them strapped ahead of the Microbeast in the pictures that it might vibrate and cause control issues.

Hi Chris,
you'r right for the wiring and I have changed it. I made the first flight yesterday, very happy overall, I need to tweak the µbeast to find the feeling that I love with my Vbars, but this seems on the good way. I have an 17T pinion bought with my kit, it's a good idea to test ? regards NoX |

I guess it depends on what headspeed you desire. The 16T is capable of 3100+ rpm (governed) which is more than enough for me, so I have no need for a bigger pinion.

Hi,
today I made few flights and try to fine tune the beast for hard 3D, but we find that the DS450 has not enough speed to holding well the heli in FFF flight and pitch pumping phase. The heli seems to have a big dolphin effect and was very hazardous to flight. So to be sure that the speed was the real issue, we have switched the DS450 to DS95. Perfect, I have juste made a small flight under the street light to try it, the heli react exact like my 90. Pitch pumping was perfect and very fast. Definitly, this things seems to be the best 450 heli servo at the moment I switch to the Gov mode n°2 with YGE card progamming, I find the gov better and more smooth; Maybe try the T17 but I find the power already good with the 16T and love to run at low rpm. It is my first 450, I'm very surprised of the nice flight behaviour. |

Hi,
thanks for the comment, I've made some tests with the 17T pinion. I find some less bogs in hard pitch manoeuvres (I use lot of pitch, 14° actually). I try ; 80%-83%-85% throttle flat curve. The battery become a little warmer, the motor too but nothing nasty I think. The only bad thing, is that I can not get more than 4' of flight, immediatly after the pack began to drop on voltage and the headspeed follows the same thing. More capacity can't affect too much the weight and flight performance like 3s 2500-2600 and more ? |
