Default Normal to idleup issue

I have dbl brushless wk main with 16t and 2.9 tail, 2801 tx. She flys good in normal mode, but the rudder is 45+ units to right. Still flys pretty well. I have pitch same in normal and idleup1. I'm not set for 3d flight. When I switch between normal and idle up throttle is faster, by design, but rudder now needs more right input to keep direction. I've tried gyro settings of equal for normal and idleup to a 20 point difference both ways and the result is the same; normal is fine and idleup1 needs more right. So I figure there is something else I need to do. I'm guessing pitch more in normal is what I'll try next, but I don't understand. So 2 ?'s.
  1. How to setup so normal and idle up use same rudder setting in subtrims.
  2. Because I have the 2801tx, do I need to do anything on the rx to get tail to act differently?

The gyro on the 4g3 is not all that great. With that said, try a couple things.. increase the mix on your rx(cw turn), and/or lower the pitch(lower the pitch value in the swash mix)

The tail is counteracting the torque the main blades create so when you flick into idle 1 if there is a substantial change in either pitch or rpm the tail will need different trim settings.
As per Fretman or
Make your normal mode upper half exactly the same as the upper halves of your idle 1...for both pitch and thr.

With many transmitters the trim positions are assigned for each flight mode....not so for the 2801 so really you will only get the tail trimmed for one flight mode if your settings differ.

I used to set mine up trimmed for idle up and just fly the tail on take off and landing.

If all else fails, You can take off in Idle up mode and just not worry about switching in flight.

Thanks guys, I'll try all the above. I was flying in idleup 1 only, but I thought I'd try to get her set up correctly.
