Default Better main shaft bearings?

Just purchased some stock servo frames with main shaft bearings (MSH41074), and the bearings that came with them... let me put it this way, the ones I thought I needed to replace after a crash are in a better shape.

Where do I find bearings that exceed in quality those that come stock?

I got some from rc bearings... Just make sure to buy in bulk for the good prices... Ie one will be like $3 out but 10 for 10.. Well it was that when I last ordered.. And I ordered a heap and haven't run out yet...

Are they notchy/gritty or do they just have slop? Bearings with rough spots are a no no of course, but a bit of slop is not a problem, especially as the MiniP has 3 main shaft bearings. To little slop in these gives you a hard time aligning the bearings blocks so that the main shaft falls through all 3 bearings.

I donīt have first hand experience, but this site getīs mentioned a lot regarding good cheap bearings:

Boca bearings should also be a good source, but overpriced IMO.

They're notchy to the point that the main shaft stops with tactile feedback of positive engagement. That is, with just one of two new bearings used, the other discarded for it's completely bad.

On a tangent - and, just like the last time, the servo frame holes for M2x8 bolts haven't been threaded deep enough, about 1.5mm short. Something isn't right with either QA, or manufacturing, or both.

Thanks, will investigate.

RC Bearings, Avid RC, and Boca Bearings are the big three for our use.

What are factors to consider when choosing the bearings?
