Troc,
Do you have a 14MZ or 12FG. You mention both radios in one post. The software version for the 14MZ is
1.20 1.38 or 1.21 1.38 Either version will work the 2.4ghz module and receiver for the 14MZ

For the 12FG you need software version 1.3
Look in the information screen in the menu and it tells what version the software is that is loaded in the tranny.

The modules are region coded also. So you need a module that matches the region code on your transmitter. Being in france, your not go all the frequencies in the 2.4 ghz that the rest of the world has. Or some of them will only be used at 10mw output while the rest will be at 100 mw output. There is an instruction manual in the update that you can read that will explain this. It is a Word formatted document.

hi David, I have a T14 with normal modul. And as I have a friend who has the biggest RC shop in France, I also have the 12FG with TM14 modul for trial. Both radio are region coded for France (Europe) So what I have done is just update my T14 to the editor 1.2.0 and plug-in the TM14 of the 12FG. But I can't activate the TM14. When the "mismatched frequency..." message appears, I pushed YES. But when I gp in to the frequency setting windows it said something like unable to change the frequency because of mismathced

Just to clarify.

You have a 12FG with a TM14 Module
You also have a 14MZ with a 35 or 40Mhz FM module
The 14MZ is at Ver 1.20/1.38 but when you plug the TM14 from the 12FG you say that there is a "Mismatched frequency band" message when you first turn on (below)

You select yes and then enter the Frequency screen. Here there should be another message reporting "Mismatched frequency band" with a Yes button below?? Is this button displayed? (below)

Hi, Flycop 2000,

I'm interested in reading this posts but am unable to locate.
It would be appreciated if you could put the link for this?

The YES button is not there. And I found another problem: when I plug back my 41MHz Modul in with the updated Editor (1.2.0) and Encoder, the transmiter is hang out, unable to go further than the screen that demand the confirmation to transmit (the second window when TX is turned on). When I switched back to 1.1.0 editor with 1.37 encoder it works like before. Strange think happened.

That is the commands you need. Those are the programs you posted. You have to put the one you want to use on the CF card. Needs to be the only command on the card.

Hi,

I just received my TM-14 module and successfully plugged in in my 14MZ. I cheched the frequencies with a scanner and I can confirm that when positionned to "France" the module transmits only between 2400 and 2450 MHz, so Futaba did a bandwith limitation, not a power limitation (there's no output at all between 2450 and 2483 MHz).

BTW I had to change my radio to Europe version (module is europe one, bought in France). One important thing I noticed is when reverting to encoder 1.1 - 1.31 to use the calibration utility for the 14MZ, when I set the region to Europe, at reboot I loose all text in the display !! (bug seems to appear only when the radio is set to Europe, I tried America and it works well). But no panic, I just had to uprgade again to 1.21 - 1.38 and display gets back as normal for Europe zone.

A+

Hi David,

I'm little bit confused. I was not able to find the v1.31 for 12Z.
Are you suggesting for me to use v1.31 of 14MZ of following program (which included in utility soft includes T14mzUtility calibration utility for the FX40 )to apply 12Z by installing each program for different CF card to change the region code?
1) T14ZSETRX.ini
Execute T14Z Setting Rx Program
2) T14ZTESTLIGHT.ini
Execute T14Z Reduced Test
3) T14ZTEST.ini
Execute T14Z Test Program

Appreciate your help.

Best regards, Team Japan

This thread explains it.
https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=20745

You can not load 14MZ updates into the 12Z.
The latest update for the 12Z is for the 2.4ghz module.
It is V1.2.0 /1.38

Just curious if your in Japan. 2.4 ghz is not legal for aircraft there yet from what I understand. Suppose to be legal around June/July is what I was told.

Hi David,

Thank you very much for your very useful information. I believe I can understand how to activate calibration soft for 12Z which is already installed in 12Z.

I do not know when 2.4G is legalized in Japan but our team is very much interested in this new way to avoid interference. So I asked your help.

Thanks again and best regards, Team Japan

Hi

The receivers are not region coded.
You can take the receiver from the US.

Default Hi

Hello DavidH,
Sorry just enquiring, Does it mean that the US region versions have more transmit power or are able to use more hopping channels, then the France and Asian regions versions? Thanks!
