Good instructions in the first post of this thread. I just followed them and it worked perfectly.

One thing I discovered which I realized Braindrain had done, but I missed time around: He says to start one one pack at the first black wire. That first black wire needs to be from the pack which has it's main black wire going to the battery connector (ie, not joined directly to the other pack to make the 7s pack).

When I did mine I just chose a battery to be the positive side of the EC5 connector and considered this battery #1. Using a 7s connector I started removing the balance leads (one wire at a time) beginning with the red wire on the #1 battery and putting it into the #1 slot on the 7s connector.

After putting in the red wire I just placed the black wires in the same order from the red wire that they were in the existing plug. Once the first battery was done I then started removing the black wires (one at a time) on the second battery in order starting with the closest to the red and continued installing them in the 7s connector in order.

Take the ground wire from battery #1 and using bullet connectors connect it to the positive wire on the second battery (battery #2) then put the ground wire on battery #2 to the EC5 connector.

You do not need to use the red balance wire off of battery #2 so just remove it from the existing connector, insulate it with heat shrink and tie it out of the way. Make sure the lead is insulated well and can not vibrate loose.

To check and make sure you have the balance wires in the correct order, use a volt meter, put the red lead in the red side of the EC5 connector and then check each balance wire in the plug. Each time you go to the next pin you should show a step up in voltage equal to the added cell.

Hope this helps

Thunder Power 65c prices are not high these days you can buy them in under 70 USD.

While the Maxamps batteries are very expensive I've had the best luck with them for sure. I've had good luck also with the old Flight Power brand from Hobico before they went under, great luck with Pulse batteries, I've had decent service from GensAce but horrible luck with Turnigy and not very good luck with Thunder Power. For me, I get more flight time and pop with my Max Amps packs than I do with similar Pulse batteries and they are lighter. Just my experience and YMMV. Take care!
