Parts consistency
Im new to the Protos and I noticed that part consistency is crazy! I mean a part is produced one way for a while then a minor cosmetic change then another due to some issue. Soon you have several parts that do the same job but are different that you cant mix or match. Today I made a suggestion for a part and had that particular part on order... come to find out it's been discontinued. But at the same time its been mention on here about location of FBL unit and the risk of placing your $200 plus FBL unit or receiver under a center punch (main shaft) Why would you go back to that after you made a perfect fix to solve the problem? Then furthere the temptation to place your FBL in the same location with a part to make a perfectly level surface?
I know I have Angered the Gods ...but If it doesn’t make sense.. WHY WOULD GOD NEED A STARSHIP?????? Solex227 For give me Im new |

I've read multiple posts about QC issues with some of the MSH parts, but I've never experienced it myself. All the parts I ever bought were a perfect fit with no fiddling.

i actually prefer that they improve on there design, while still making parts compatible with one another. I hate ordering parts for my trex 450. the pro parts dont fit with the v2 which dont fit with the original design. its a crap shoot on if i ordered the right version and if that version will fit with my frankenstiened air frame.
take the protos main shaft. they have changed there design at least twice already. but each version will still fit in the original bearing holders and head. same with the new booms, and conductive boom blocks. direct replacement for older parts. as for your specific problem with the main shaft. i have read that installing a second main shaft locking ring above the third bearing block will prevent the shaft from sliding down in case of inverted crash. Fbl controller manufacturers say that mounting the controller directly under the shaft will give you the best results. i say put it there and just dont crash.lol

Dr M
I made this post too soon after posting a reply to mshdirect.. I believe Alex answered the question to why in the thread called upgrades after I started this thread. Need less to say makes sense..... Darn shame the shaft was discontinued. I will ask for this thread to be deleted . And may be not ... Now we have another post. Last edited by solex227; 01-02-2013 at 07:45 PM..
