Default Paint Job

I have seen a few heli's out there that have been painted like the local TV or Sheriff's Office or Medical Helicopters. Where would I go to obtain a paint job like that for a few of my scale helis??? I would like to do it myself but I DO NOT have that type of skill. I would like to be able to get them painted soon.

Try your local body shop, or talk to the people in the hobby shops. I'm sure that there are painting professionals that can help you.

I think many of the ones you see here on the forums are done by the owner/builders. Unless you've got pretty deep pockets, paint jobs like these are pretty cost prohibitive. There is a ton of time involved in getting the thing prepped, and painted. It's really not that difficult, but it takes an investment in equipment (probably about what you'd spend on a paint job), and some practice. I look at it as another excuse to buy tools!

As far as vendors, try a shop that does custom work on motorcycles. They are usually more interested in doing custom stuff than an auto body shop, where it's all about production. Be sitting down when they give you a quote...

Also try going to the fairs or malls and see if you can find a airbrush artist that might be interested in painting for you
