They are not Zippys relabeled. They stated on their website that the factory that manufactured Zippy lipos could not keep up with demand so they switch factories for these new Turnigy lipos. But the claim (and even themselves say time will tell...) that the Turnigy lipos are BETTER than Zippys! Well.. time will tell!

I hope so. I liked the prices on the Zippy's.....even better on the Turnigy's. At that price....even if they are only just as good.....or even a" tiny" bit less.

There is a reason they can't keep them in stock.. I saw where one of their more popular lipo shipments came in.....10,000 in stock...

Sly, I know you do your homework....so, I'm leaning more towards what you are saying......and then the whole "time" thing..

I'm careful to check dimensions first (at least now anyway). 38mm wide or thick works perfectly Though I have squeezed some 40mm in there.

I'm surprised, looking at the dimensions they look like they should fit (ass-uming that the dimensions on hobbycity are correct).

Got my Turnigy 3000 mAh 6S 20c 483 grams battery today, it fits the heli without any mod so ever. Tight fit, but it seems to work.

http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s..._20C_Lipo_Pack

On the picture I haven't replaced the bullet connector to deans yet...

The picture doesn't show that it fits, it just shows where I put it to make it fit.

Will this fit? (137x43x37mm)
Turnigy 3000mAh 6S 30C Lipo Pack

Its longer, but not as thick as this.(113x48x46mm)
ZIPPY Flightmax 3000mAh 6S1P 20C (I got one of these)

Konrad

I see that many of you run 20C batteries. Why not 30C? Does the 20C batteries give you enough power?

I run the 30C ones, and they fit albeit tight with the canopy - I bought some 3300mAh 30C and had to do the frame mod - I'm happy I did as both types fit with no rubbing on the canopy now.

Even though I'm new at this, I went with 30C to give me some breathing room - hopefully the batteries will live longer than their 20C counterparts. The cost savings was so marginal that there was no reason to go with 20C for me.

if you want to use these big batteries, FUSUNO EX canopy should give enough room at a different style

Well after seeing this photo I got out the dremmel and did it! It was soo easy to dremmel down to the line were the straps went thru its a straight line all the way. Cut out a template for the new holes(drill the new holes) put in the tray and its fixed! It took me 1hr total with fitting using the phone and lots of other crap....My 3300 Turnigys30c packs fit in the bird now! It was very easy and did not cost any $$$$.....Now that's good!

I've done the tray mod too but haven't got any 3300's yet.

How well would it balance with a full size DS8900G tail servo?

Funny you should ask that question I have the DS8900G on my Trex 500 now. You will need the carbon bracket from the Trex 600 and you must have the metal tail boom clamps and it rocks! I will post a photo of it soon.

Nice pic's.

I'll upload some photo's of my T500 later with mods.

So, how does it balance? Is it still tail heavy with torque tube?
