Jr 9303 beast x question
Does anyone know I'm using my jr9303 and a ar7200 beast x. And I am unable to use the gyro menus it adjust the gain. It appears that I have to use the end points on the gear channel. Am I correct in thinking this.

Re: Jr 9303 beast x question
You can use the governor menu to adjust tail gain, tied to the flight mode switch. Just go by the letter on the BX to determine the gain setting rather than the value for the governor.
You'll need to activate the governor in the Device Select menu of the transmitter. It works just fine that way. The reason you can't use Gyro Sense with the 9303/BX combo is because it's tied to the Aux2 channel and the BX only uses the gear channel for Gyro gain. Sent from my phone

You might try mixing one of the channels that can be used (7 or 9, if I recall, correctly) with the gyro menu with channel 5 (Gear, the channel that can't be used with the gyro menu but is the channel in the AR7200BX used for gyro gain).
That should allow you to use the Gyro Gain menu. Test it thoroughly before flying.

"Does anyone now if the 9503 has that ability."
I don't think this particular item changed from the 9303 to the 9503. The 11X and 12X have the flexibility in the Device Select/Gyro menus, that you are seeking. Again, I would just try a mix first-you can do that in about five minutes (mixing channel 7 to 5 should do it-if it works backwards, you can reverse it).

Tell me more about mixing channel 7 and 5. I'm fairly new at this. Is it possible you would humor me with an explanation
Thank you so much

Device Select on the 9303/9503 will not allow you to select Channel 5 "Gear" for use with the "Gyro Sense" menu.
Select Channel 7, which is allowed. There is a menu for programmable mixes, which will allow you to mix Channel 7 to channel 5. The Gyro Sense menu will control Channel 7, then Channel 7 will control Channel 5. I do not have a 9303/9503 here with me to go through the exact steps.

Check THIS thread for some options. One of the posts is mine with a video if you want to do it that way, which is really the easiest way. Don't let the menus confuse you, all they do is output a servo signal, which a gyro will interpret as a gain position rather than a servo position.
Whether you use the Governor Menu or not, it all ends up being the same. The Gov menu of this transmitter just makes it easier to get there. Especially with the BX since LEDs on the face of the unit will tell you what your gain is. The letter F would be on the lower end of the range (for Heading Hold) you would want to use for gain, J would be toward the higher end. Any gain that would put you beyond either of those letters could be considered too high or too low, and you would then change your ball spacing in order to get within that range. Hope this helps. Here's a video by Angelos of Spartan RC where he explains this.
