I have one 2 x 3S pack and one 6S.
Hyperion Gen 3 VXes, they didnt have enough 6S in stock.
They work the same, 3S pack combo is like 10g heavier (wires + connector)

3S combo will be cheaper in a crash...if you taco your pack.

Works great. I run 2200 zippy h. Performance is insane since the AUW is low.

I recommend you charge and balance the packs as 6s to keep the cells close. Keep your batteries paired as much as possible to prevent damage to individual cells. Make doubly sure you don't discharge more then 80%

I run 2x 2650mah Zippy Flightmax 30C in series. Very good results. But I am still new with this bird so I am not pushing it too much.. the weight of those 2650mah is obviously higher than 2x 2200... so it might penalize me on the total weight...

I really like the shape of those lipos! They are flat and I can stack them and it doesn't stick up like the 2x 2100 Mystery I use to fly with!

I run 2x 2200 Zippys, pretty new batts and a couple 6S 2800 30C packs. The 6S 2800 pack is much stronger than the 2x Zippy for me. The 2x 2200 Zippy was actually just ok on performance. Not surprising, I can pull much more current out of the 6S 2800 30C pack.

Agree the 2 x 3s2200 25c or 30c zippies are pretty darn good, its in the 4 minute range for me but on a calm day its very quick, windy days I love 6s3000 packs and get 5-6 mnutes. Considering they cost around $40-$50 per pair for the Zippys are great.

Advice on how to charge 2x3S as a 6S?

I have a Triton EQ charger. My Desire Power 6S has two balance plugs. One is 4 pin and the other 6 pin. The 4 pin plug is filled but the 6 pin also has 4 wires. I would try plugging in two 3S packs into the connectors but the pin spacing is different on my 3S packs. I have an adapter that will fit the wider spacing of the 3S packs but no plug options for dual 3S. Do I need to make an adapter plug for charging them together?

Thanks for the replies so far and for any further help.

Here's how I am charging/balancing 2x3S as one 6S on a Hyperion Duo.

First picture shows 2 3S packs, one with a 4 pin and one with a 6 pin (just like your Desire pack). I changed one of the packs from a 4 pin plug to a 6 pin so I don't accidentally connect it the wrong way.

This picture is 2 3S packs each with a 4 pin connector (color coded for the above reason). The 4 pin will plug into the 6 pin port, just make sure the last 2 pins are left open.

But here's what I think you need. This is 2 3S packs with Align-type 4 pin connectors. My adapter board only has a single 7 pin port for a 6S pack. I made this adapter that combines the two 4 pins into one 7 pin.

Check out this thread: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=900691

Follow the link in post #2. It will show you a wiring diagram of the adapter. That's what I used to make mine.

Hope this helps!

Cool!

BTW, I got my connectors from RC Accessory.
They have a lot of harder to find connectors.

I don't see how you guys are getting 5:30 of hard 3D on 2x 2350's. I get 4min 3D with my flying pairing 2200s and taking %80 out!
