Default 2nd Try with my 3G @ V2.1 lasts 60 sec

I bought the first 3G kit at our LHS months ago. I wasn’t entirely satisfied with the flight performance so I put the flybar’d head back on and thought I’d wait for firmware or the rumored PC interface. Well, I just got the link, reinstalled the head and 3G units, updated the firmware & set everything up.

I popped up into a nice smooth hover did a few slow piros and a couple of hard piro stops to check the tail. Next I zoomed off into the wild blue yonder and only got about 30 yards and she quickly rocked left and self righted and almost immediately slowly rolled right continuously. I had no cyclic control.

Luckily, the crash was in tall grass and only the usual suspects were damaged. I left the battery plugged in and upon return to the bench there was no collective. Cyclic worked OK but absolutely no collective action, dead, period. All the plugs were in place, everything looked fine except the 3G controller light was blinking. I unplugged the battery and then plugged it back in….presto…I got collective again…go figure….

I am running off a CC ICE 75 with the internal BEC set to 6 volts. Whatever, I’m done beta testing FBL…I’m keeping my Vbar’d Trex 500 but I'm not buying any other FBL until the technology is more mature and robust….

What size heli is this? The bec in the ice 75 may not be enough. On my 700 fbl the 3G sucks up a lot of current that I used a cc bec Pro.
I think you may have had a brownout.

It was on a Trex 500. I have the same ICE 75 running my Vbar'd Trex 500 and my other flybar'd Trex 500 and I have had no problems. If it was a power outage then why didn't the 3G reset? When I picked it up right after the crash, it was still malfunctioning.
