My 3s motor had no play, my 6s has a little bit. For what its worth, a motor with no play would be more likely to run warm.
Are you checking temp with an ir gun or a finger? also motors will "heat soak" after they stop running, so its best to check right after landing. My motor feels hot to the touch, but measures under 150f which is well within operating specs, and its been 100+ lately Sent from my SGH-T959V using Tapatalk 2

Anything short of actually burning your finger (~80C in general) is fine for a motor. Dont be too concerned if it is hot to the touch, thats normal for scorpion motors.

I have the wire braid, but opted not use it as room is limited. I am reasonably happy with my wiring for a first attempt. There are slots in the frame that are strategically placed to allow cable ties to hold the wires as the go from front to back(ESC + servo). I tuck most wires under the boom block and run them up to vbar behind the boom pulleys, its a bit tight but split the number of wires each side and you should be right. |
