First time connecting to 720 in BNF 550
My first post as a HF member...cool....
I purchased a used Trex 550E w/720 that is radio-ready, just have to check the Skookum settings and bind it to my DX6i. I have another 720 FBL unit (not installed in a heli) that's already been connected to my laptop; it installed the config software and I've been checking out the various setup options at leisure. Is there any danger of connecting the heli with the 720 installed to the laptop and garbling the setup of that unit? I'd like to just look over the configuration, play with the auto-level feature, and of course re-bind to the new radio. The heli was configured and flying with the 720 as purchased. I don't want to do anything to wipe the settings.... Thanks- Tom |

You will need to connect up to initiate the binding process to the unit anyway,

Thank you, that's the answer I needed.
The servos were correctly set up and the whole machine is already configured to to fly, but I did not want to connect (to bind) without first asking the question as to any possible erasure of the current settings. What I failed to do was ask the previous owner for the transmitter settings he was using, but I believe this is simplified due to most of the functions (swash, etc) being handled in the Skookum itself.
