Default Battery weight vs performance

So I've been using the Gens Ace 4000mah 25c batteries for my Logo 480 and have been thinking about purchasing another pair. I've been reading that the 5000mah 45c's fit and it would be an economical purchase since I can share them with a 700 class in the future. However I'm concerned about the additional weight and potential decrease in performance. Perhaps a more sensible choice would be the 3700 35c's for the 480 xx?

Anyone who have tried different sizes and can compare flighttimes and performance?

Gens Ace 3700 35c (597g)
Gens Ace 4000 25c (620g)
Gens Ace 5000 45c (782g)

I've recently discovered that if I flip my heli & have give more than 5' pitch to keep it from falling, it's too heavy. I bought 3800's for my X4II, but although it can fit 5000 packs, even 3800's are too heavy. It needs 3300's & this is running 473mm MB. I found the 3800's perfect for my G500 though

I'm interested in this heli, but wanna know if 3800's will be good, or too heavy....

More headspeed will decrease your pitch requirement. So I don't get your reasoning about it being to heavy.

I have a trick for setting min head speed vs battery weight on my helis.

I use the vbar log and look for cyclic ring warnings. I fly the hell out of it and then look thru the log... I increase the head speed until the cyclic ring warnings go away. if the head-speed is above my desired head speed or it i need to get a bigger pinion, then the lipos are too heavy.

this is assuming everything is set up right.

Right, makes sense. But if you have to run a higher HS to get the same performance out of a heavier set up, therefore more stress on components, & higher battery cost, there is a point where it's not very effecient & really has no advantage I would think.

So the question is......what is the best battery size for this machine in regards to effieciency, & performance for the average 3D pilot?
