rubbish tail
i had a little accident the other week...botched an auto, the warp fell over .blades still turning.
now i dont know how it happened but some how the servo horn on the tail was the wrong side of the servo, like it must have jumped teeth or slipped a spline, maybe it just "forced" the horn all the way back round to the darkside, i have no idea. when i bent down to pick up the warp smoke started to pour out. it was the tail servo cooking. now as some of you know i tried a 410m servo on the tail, hovering around the garden it seemed ok but today we had our first outdoor club meet of the summer ,the tail was rubbish it held but it was wagging and...well i wont go into backwards inverted flight, it would make you cringe... it was not pretty. so i was thinking about getting a similar spec tail servo the the ds520 i had on there. £45 is about my limit unless money starts to fall from the sky. i was looking at the align ds525... i know..... but my old one lasted ages and never caused a problem... so some suggestions plz guys, whats powering your tail? don't bother saying i need a bls futaba, i can't afford one atm. thanks, chris

MKS DS95i is pretty close to that budget.

You need a bls futaba.
Are you leaning more toward a mini servo? Just curious.

aaarrrrggghhhh
well im actually steering towards the align ds525 just due to the specs vs the price, £28.50 is a good price for a coreless digital servo in the 3.0kg braket, i dont care what size it is tbh, tho the larger servos would have more kg rating. the mks servos are rather attractive, both the ds95i and the 8910a...£57.99 & £54.99 is a bit too much. im still looking on fastlad as we type...looking at the kst servos now EDIT... the kst servo is the same specs as the align servo but £2 more....looking at savox servos now... chris

I have to agree with this recommendation (Helismith is a wise man). Not the cheapest, not the newest, but it just works!

thinking of a warp
I am running Align DS620 for throttle on my nitro it works great and I am running the DS610 on cyclic on my 550e they are great. Never ran one on my tail but I imagine you will be happy
Edit: I ran a ds620 on a 550 tail but it was under powered for that application

"hmmm strange you say that as out of all fore mentioned servos the jr has the worst specs vs the most expensive price.. i know what your thinking.... buy cheap, buy twice."
Actually, I am thinking that I have not really trusted a lot of the manufacturer's electronics specs in a very long time. It is like Lipo "C" ratings-some over rate theirs, some underrate theirs-you can't necessarily know what is going on without trying them. Same with servos. I know the JR's are older technology, but they just work. If I were building a new Warp or another 450 sized machine, I would still use the JR's (even with the expense and the lower specs).

thinking of a warp
To be honest I listed he JR3500 because with the new servos out people are selling these off. I didn't list Futaba 9650 because I don't think it's as good as the Align. When I bolted a JR3500 to my 450 back in its glory day it solved all my problems and those problems are still gone. If you can find one at a great price, it also is a JR servo and as you see by Ah Clem, the much wiser modeler than I, they have a great rep. I don't think my JR8717 are capable of dying, they need new gear sets by now but the servo is still all there
