Default Bought a crashed 450x to convert 450 3D...

Hey all,

I have a 450 3D and I just bought a crashed 450 X to use for parts, the Frame, landing gear and blades are the only things broke on the Crashed 450X...

So I want to use the parts from the 450X to convert my 450 3D.. Then I'll have extra parts for future use...

Do I just change the reciever/gyro and FBL head? Or are there other parts I also need to change?

Will my wood blades form my 450 3D work on the 450x? I know the 450x uses CF blades, but I'm still a new Heli pilot..

I only wanted to convert my 450 3D to FBL because Ive been told the flybar is part of my problem as to why I'm having so much trouble even hovering..

Yor might check also your servos . I don't know wha servos yow have on your 3D, but with the AR 7200 BX it is better to have faster digital servos

I'm almost positive that the V1 450X had the same servos that the 450 3D had, so that shouldn't be a problem. I would ditch the wood blades for fiberglass ones though. You can get them from Hobbyking for about $7 a pair, and they will really help the heli to fly more stable. You can also run a little higher headspeed with them, which will also help stabilize the heli.

To answer your question, yes, switch the head and the gyro/FBL unit, redo your setup, and you should be good to go.

Thanks,

1. claimed minor motor improvements.
2. metal geared servos.
3. slant main gear and compatible pinion.

Your V1 will fly every bit as well at your V2, but the V2 "may" have a more robust motor, should be quieter, and the servos should be more robust.

I don't know about the rest, but I rather enjoyed hearing my V1 drown out the lawn mower a block away recently.

Cool, yeah, I'll probably keep the servos and gears the same till I burn threw my extra parts, then when I have to buy new parts, I'll buy the upgrades..

The Big difference should be the Flybar to FBL..

I'm hoping it's much easier to fly, with my understanding of the systems, it should be night and day..

If you use wood blades have your top throttle no higher than 80%.

My 4503d hovers and fly's just fine, perhaps yours is set up incorrectly.

How advanced of a pilot are you?

Setup incorrectly? Impossible! Every Blade Heli Is Setup and Test flown before it leaves the factory!

I am still a beginner, My biggest problem with the 450 3D is that it wont sit still, it wants to float all over the place. I am told that is typical of a flybared heli and is much less of an issue with flybarless?

The wind will affect FB helis more than FBL in a hover especially smaller heli's and a 450 is a small one. FB can be trimmed during a hover to make it sit pretty still. Over controlling the heli is very common for a guy just starting out. You can't go wrong with the 450x for learning with. Have fun with it.
