Nah, it's cool. He posted it publicly in the 500X forum. We're pals.

The 5oox is quite nose heavy stock and in this case added weight with the largest poasible monent.
Regarding the vibe issue, have you double checked that the thrust bearings on the tail grips are installed correctly? I know mine had some vibe issues until I found TomC's post about how to identify the inner and outer bearing races.

Regarding the 500 being nose heavy... I feel your pain. My bird is pretty nose heavy as well (I'm using the 3000mah blue Turnigy 30C batteries). So far I haven't bothered doing anything about it.

I suspected the tail hub as the root cause of my issues. The tail box was free. I've seen the vids of the 500 box exploding, I thought for safety would be a good idea as I tracked down the root cause. I bought a trex 500 hub assembly and stuck it on. I had already checked assembly of the stock hub including T-brgs. The align hub is a big 300 improvement, not so much on the 500 from what I can tell. I'm hoping to get to the bottom of the 500 tail issue as lots of folks seem to suffer from it. About all that's left is the tail shaft, I'll pick one up and some new bearings as they don't last long with the resonance.

Once again, I had good reason in my mind to do these changes due to need rather than want...

Can anyone provide input on whether certain servos will fit in the MH frame? I will be running Corona 919 MGs and was hoping they were drop ins.

Finished building the frame, adding the servos, attaching the tail boom this weekend. Its starting to look like a helicopter again. Cant wait to give it a test flight.

Is anyone using an upgrade motor with the MH frame? Did you have to mod the canopy in order for it to fit?

I have a brand new fiberglass canopy and doesn't seem to fit with my Typhoon motor.

I'm using plastic canopies on both of my Lynx framed 300Xs. This is because neither my NEEWER 4000Kv or Typhoon 450H would fit with my Lynx canopies. I'm guessing you'll encounter similar problems with the MicroHeli frame.

Did you have to mod the plastic canopies at all?

They fit without any mods, at least on my Lynx frames. The only mod I do to the plastic canopies is coat the inside with shoe glue to stiffen them up around the grommets. The plastic canopies are significantly lighter and are the better choice if your goal is performance; the only thing you really miss out on are the aesthetics that the fiberglass paint schemes have.

I just got the same MH frame from same place. Every owner I've heard from likes it. They say it's only 14 grams heavier than stock frame. Haven't begun assembly yet but opened the box and looks good.

I found this 300x MH frame build thread on RCgroups. Looks like it should be helpful.

Thanks, that's a good thread, with heaps of photos and some handy tips. I'm looking forward to a full CF scratch build, should be a good learning experience.
I'm tossing up whether to order a CF tail boom...... Any body know the weight saving off hand?

I'm not sure of the weight. Might save a few grams, but Uriah uses CF booms and mentioned it changes the vibration paradigm. Thought he meant maybe it was an improvement some how. When your aircraft has that much CF it can interfere with radio signals, and might be good to have an extra satellite receiver. I might try both myself.

You save about 5 grams using CF booms on the 300X. You can also save weight by ditching the plastic tail fins for CF ones.

Assembly is very easy and really feels sturdy once built. I will say that if you plan on mounting your BX on top, make sure that you mount the platform on the boom casing prior to mounting the boom to the frame. Its very difficult to access the front screws due to the servos in the way.
