Not a kontrinics expert by any means but.

The kontronics jive esc did have bec issues with high current servos at max voltage.

Max voltage set via prog card for the jive is 6 volts

Kosmic is 8 volts so I think it's possible that you can run the system off 6 volts from a kosmic.

I'd wait for someone with experience to chime in though.

Martin

I have ran 8717s with BLS251 on Jive controllers for years with zero issues. I tend to set the Jive at 5.6v for ultimate in reliability. I am not sure what angle your advice about not running 6v is coming from.

Running at 5.6v isn't an issue.

Running at 6v (max for the bec) to a set of hungry servos ( 8717,610,savox etc) on quick movments ( pitch pump setting can trigger this ) will force some back EMF and shut down the bec.

I'm assuming at 5.6v there is a voltage buffer there to deal with back EMF.

Default 8717

I recently saw a 800 with 8717 servo's with 6.0 V , they were vibrating the whole time.
I mounted a 5.6 V BEC and the problem was gone.

No problem on kosmik, jive was v7 then only when 2 leads installed with problems, at least far i know thats the official version. Ive been using them on 5.6 with jive many years, you wont notice difference anyway
