Default Trex 500 DFC setup question???

I'm using an ikon/brain fbl. I have these on my other helis as well.

The Trex 500 DFC has max. Gain set at 60 in basic screen and the head doesn't shake and still doesn't have that locked in feel that my other helis have. So it seems that I'm not achieving actual max. Gain.

I'm running it all stock, except for heli option DFC head links, DS 510 (non metal gear servos) but have metal gears in them, futaba 9257, CC ICE 75 and MSH Brain.

Pitch is set to 12.5 degrees and cyclic is set to 8 degrees. I initially selected. A 500 size heli and proceeded to set the heli up and then it was suggested in this thread https://www.helifreak.com/showthread...23#post6546523 to start with 450 size heli setting and it made no difference.

Looking for suggestions and/or experience with this particular heli or a similar situation with another heli that was resolved.

Running the stock pinion at 92% flat throttle curve. No governor.

Using DX9 TX. Expo at zero in brain and 10% in TX.

Which gain are you talking about? cyclic or tail? Also I have used the 9257 and did not like it. If you use the DS520 or something equivalent, then you can run all your servo at 6v.

I have a 9257 on the tail of 2 different helis running at 6v. No problems with either of them.

I'm referring to the cyclic gain in the basic screen. Even though the manual states to setup cyclic at 8 degrees, someone suggested to try 10 degrees. I think I'm going to try the 10 degrees on cyclic and 13 on pitch to see if that works.

I didn't measure the cyclic in degrees when I set mine up. I just made sure that the swash does not bind in any position. The 3 modes determines on how docile or aggressive you want to make it.

The gain doesn't give it the locked in feel, leave that at the stock setting. Agility is what changes whether it will feel like a fly bar or more robotic/locked in feel. Like I said change the gain to the stock setting and adjust the agility to your liking.
