Default 500 DFC Swashplate

Are these DFC swash worth the upgrade? I guess Align is producing DFC swash for all their helicopters now. It does look better than standard swash.

I'm hoping that they've changed the dimensions a little, so that the geometry is better for FBL.

Just the ball placement alone should make the geometry better I would imagine. With the balls being that far in I think it will be a big improvement.

The swash was the reason I haven't done DFC yet.
Once that's in some hands then I'll swap over

For sports flying won't make much difference. For hard 3D, it may help. Don't really know yet. They just became available here in the US. Some shops have them in stock now. Who wants to be the first to try it and let us know

I'm only getting one because my 30 month old swash has a tiny bit of play in it

Mine arrived today, but work has me tied up all week so I don't think I'm going to be able to try it out until this weekend.

Grandrc.com has them in stock, but I think I'm going to wait a while. A lot have had good luck with the stock swash, but mine lasted about 30 flights before the bearing developed a lot of play and allowed the center hub to rock back and forth quite a bit.

Using the I2 dual race swash right now and the hub on it is tight as the day I installed it.

Nice looking swash ,vbar system on my 500esp did not see any improvement in the geometry .There is no way to pop the link from the swash using the tool .

After upgrading or in my case downgrading to the DFC head I am back to the stock head. I had some serious issues with the head on my 550 and decided that my helis flew great with the stock heads so I switched back. I for one am not fond of the design.

Rolls are more axial ,flips are tighter and the cyclic feel more connected.

Did you have to make the pitch links longer with the new swash to get 0 pitch @ mid stick? if so how many full turns?

There is not enough adjustment on the pitch links ,make your adjustment using the servo to swash links .Sorry cant remember how many turn ,guess 4 to 5 .

4-5 turns thats quite a bit.. would of thought that would make allot of difference with Vbar collective and cyclic numbers

The numbers remain ~ the same collective 78 ,the link length have nothing to do with the swash .You need to adjust the length because the main shaft is shorter .

I'm not talking about the whole DCF conversion from standard flybarless. I understand converting from the standard flybarless to DFC the main shaft is shorter and you need to shorten your servo links.
But I had assumed you already had the DFC running the standard 500 swash and now you have upgraded to the DFC swash which apparently has the ball links closer to the main shaft giving you some Neg pitch, therefore you would have to adjust your pitch or servo links to get back to 0 deg at mid stick
