It would help if you tell us what brand of blades are you asking about.

Sorry...I was referring to the Spin Matt Grey Scale Blades, for multi blade heads, they appear to be a narrow chord.

All Spin Blades are CF unless noted. I run a 600mm set on my 500MD TD and they are very good blades. The balance was spot on right out of the package. Previously, I ran a 43mm set of Rotor Tech semi-symmetrical blades on the same machine and these take a bit less power for the same flight time. The set on mine are 35mm wide. They are a very nicely made set of blades.

I have used brand Spin Blades 620mm, 12mm root, semi-symmetrical right rotating (CW) on my Trex 600 and I was extremly satisfied with them. Now I am using scale semi-symetrical tail blades 105mm from Spin Blades on my mechanics beeing ready for 700 size Jet RangerIII. But for the mains I will be using 680mm 12mm root, left rotating (CCW) semi-symetrical from the only maker offering this dimensions with CCW, web page: http://derblattschmied.com/ . I am waiting to arrive, when I test them I will get back with info.

Best Regards, Peter

Thanks for the info, I picked up a 4 blade set of the 435mm for a build, seem to be good quality, all weights are a spot on match. They are a 27mm chord and seem to be very flexible....for carbon fibre. ...especially when compared to the same size heliartist cf blades.
Anyway will give them a try and see how they go.

I am deciding between the Spin Matt Grey's and the HeliArtist CF right now.
Going on a BO-105 4 blade head which I intend to fly light 3D stuff with.

You say the SB's feel flexible, thinking maybe for my intended use the HA 425's might be the better choice, thoughts?
Which has a wider chord, can't find spec on the HA's?

Remember that a good part of your choice will be dictated by the head type. A rigid head will really work great with the Spin Blades as they are fairly flexible. If your head is dampened, then the more rigid HA blades (standard CF type that are pretty stiff from all reports I have seen) will be a good choice. Personally, the Spin Blades on my 500 make it one beautifully flying model and are worth their weight in platinum. Take care.

Align 4 blade so no damping.
Maybe will give the SB's a try.

Yeah the Matt Grey spin blades are flexible CF and have about a 25mm chord and they are working well on the PnP rigid rotor head.

After messaging back and forth with SB I think I am going to try the HeliArtist 425mm
SB thinks for my intentions their scale blades might flex enough in inverted flight to get into the tail. They are out of stock anyways but if I find I don't get good result with the HA's I get a set.

I had a look for the HeliTec's but can't find a 425/35mm or a reseller that ships to Canada.

Can you get these somewhere other than directly? I look at their site and it looks like they don't ship outside of Europe. I just sent them a note to ask that question but thought I would ask here.

I actually reinstalled the HA 435's on the weekend I found the SB's to be good...but they were just too flexible and I found very difficult to properly tune the fbl.. had to dial the gains way down...and yes these blades can easily reach the boom...I'm still not convinced they are cf, I had one blade actually deform from leaving the heli in my car for a few hours. I managed to get it straightened out with the wifes hairdryer. Anyway I put the HA's back on and it just felt so much more locked in.

I just re read your post about 3D and the sb scales blades are asymmetrical. ..flat bottom... probably not the best upside down

Barry

I have 4 x 820mm LH of them lying in my house. They arrived just before I went on holiday, so Australia is definitely outside of Europe, so they do ship them.

Did you hear back ?

Colin

No they didn't answer but I figured out that they do ship outside of Europe. I also found a dealer in France that definitely ships anywhere (and in English!!), When the time comes (soon) I will order a set.

Thanks for getting back to me.
