JivePro 120HV first impressions

So there must be a few JivePro 120HV out there already, any user experience with it so far?

Got one, but reluctant to fit to my Banshee or TDR as there were a few shutdown issues with one user here in Cape Town.

Shut down issues because of what? I got to fly one on 2 different models and it performed just like a kosmik. I was also using the HV bec on both test setups

Due to over current, but JLog shows a peek of 170A for less than a few milisecond, it only shutsdown another 30 seconds later. Strange, really, the owner have tried various fixes, but it always does that.

I have the same issue on mine. 4 flights and 4 autos later. Higest current spike on jlog is 98amps. Works fine till you punch the pitch. Running 12.5 degrees on 685 spin blades. Gaui x7 aiframe. There are no error codes on the controller and nothing in the log files..... Really frustrated right now. Mks servos and scorpion ultimate motor. Its not reliable

Hi Vinger, mine and SM in Capetown are both doing the same... Please pm me your email addy and will send it to you. Everything looks normal and then its almost as if esc switches off. Two esc's exactly the same issues

does the new HeliJive have the ability to turn off "voltage cut off" completely not just
lowering voltage setting?

I'm guessing it has KSA mode ... try using that option in addition too the mode your using.

if your using something other then a K motor (pyro) you need to set KSA option

I sure hope it does not have same issue as the first Kosmik firmware with rewind motors.

Still having three examples now giving unexpected shutdowns in flight is not confidence inspiaring. Are we going the same way with this as the last two release of ESC's from Kontronik, recalls that we have to pay the shipping and import taxes again? Hope not, for now mine stays in its box.......

A guy at my club has one fitted to a Logo 600 and also has the BT module. I was stood next to him with his phone and it showed max spike of 150Amps. I don't recall duration.

He is using a Pyro 700 or 750 series motor and no heatsink.

Obviously it is a bit cooler here in the UK but he has not experienced your problem. I don't know what mode he has it set to but it looks like it does work for some.

Do the people having shut downs or logs? Have they been in contact with Kontronik? What motors are they using?

All the newest firmwares coming from K has to many
Protections built in.
Makes the ESC super sensitive to the slightest ahift

But esc's are getting pushed harder and harder and personally my electric Heli doesn't need a random smoke generator.

well this why at times there are issue's with getting the ESC to arm.
Sometimes it works other times nothing.

then you restore to rerouting the esc wires just to get it to arm due to
motor inductance to high etc.
Protection is good but not when it becomes a limiter.

honestly are we being forced to strictly only use Pyro motors.

hmm not sure which is better having it go up in smoke or having my
heli drop from the sky and do a nice dirt nap. Can't decided there both so appealing !

That was my Logo 600, spinning Rotortech 640mm mains @ 2200rpm. Pyro 700-52 Competition edition on 12s 3800mAh. I've not fitted the heatsink. Had about 20 flights and so far so good

Yes logs available, all using Scorpion motors, other motors were tried as well, I am currently on the road, but will get it and send on to you if you want to analyze it.

Subscribed. Honestly I think the same learning process will happen with the Jive pro as with the kosmiks...the first ones burned up and now they are bullet proof. Word of advise Peter..keep it in its box for another month or two...I'm sure Kontronik will be looking into this issue and update the software. Yes it is frustrating as KT is expensive but thats the hobby unfortunately. One good thing..KT will look after all of us if and when something happens...the shipping costs are a expensive but to avoid customs I value the item at 5 $ when sending...KT normally puts a zero value should they replace the unit... so customs are always zero.
