Hi

My Skookum 540 is not connecting after my update to 4.05. I stupidly did not reset the flash memory as the download instructions said before connecting. My previous software I think was 3.43.
Here's a summary in the order of events I've tried.
1. Connected 540 after download.
2. It connected and said update unit firmware.
3. Blue busy light
4. Your gyros red/green light should be flashing 1-2 minutes until firmware update complete.
(It didn't it stayed solid red)
5. Not connected.
6. I then removed 4.05 software and loaded 3.43 however it does not show the firmware in the top right corner software revision and the 540 would not connect.
7. Removed 3.43 and downloaded 4.02 which loaded OK but still a solid red light and not connected.

I then tried a bind plug across the top pins EX-LED/IO-B, connect power and usb within 1 second ( to format the flash memory) and I still have a solid red light and no connection.

The unit will power up with battery power and show a green light when not connected via usb.

Any ideas?

Connect it again and then wait (for about 5min) - this worked for me once

that happened to me too, after checking that everything was still functioning correctly I did a quick hover in the front garden and when I tried to connect after that it worked, first thing I did was to empty the 540 memory and then do the update, I had to do this a couple of times before it worked, but the 4.05 update is definitely worth doing my helis fly even better now

Yes i left mine for 5/10 min s and it updated ok

I had the same issue going from 3.43 to 4.05. At end of the firmware upload I got a red light and lost connection with the software. I left the 540 connected and posted a question in the forum but never got a reply, probably because it was late. After about 15 minutes I said what the heck, disconnected the 540, shut down the interface program and then restarted everything again and all was back to normal.
I did not reset the flash memory either before the update.

Got it to work eventually..and now problems with tail wizard with regard to servo direction.

Not really liking this upgrade

don't use the wizard just do it manually
