Hey guys,

One thing I found that helped my various fbl head with end slop, was to just file the spindle down a fraction which tightens everything up nicely without using shims etc.

Really easy, just a little at a time until the slop is gone

Had some issues with vibration on my skookum.

Made this and seemed to make a huge difference, until 2 mins into the flight when the lower plastic bearing block failed and I crashed. Luckily the damage is minimal.

That's beet. I got mine fixed by replacing the fan with a meatl one, shimming the head, replacing a worn main gear. All these things were adding to my vibration level in the vbar sensor.

I'd concur. Replace the plastic bearing blocks with metal. The metal ones are nice. By shimming the head, I believe Joe was talking of shimming out the feathering spindle end-to-end play. I did this too.

Your carbon plate looks nice. Is it resting against the elevator servo, or is there some clearance?

Thanks guys. It is actually a 3mm carbon plate attached
With some aluminium right angle stock and bolts. The plate probably has
About 3/4 of an inch clearance from the servo.

I just bought a bunch of parts from Fast Lad and the first things
On the list were metal bearing blocks after hearing about multiple failures
And seeing mine fall out of the sky. Seriously though this is one awesome
Flying heli. I just need to stock up on parts before they disappear.

Easily my favorite heli. Goes like stink with the YS 60sr fitted. Running the Hatori SAB-1 and have the sleeve ports in the YS relieved and polished a bit. Signifcantly improved the performance and tuning. Even looks as if parts will be back for summer in North America, so I can fly it hard and not worry.

Well mine cranks with a ys56sr and a Novrossi pipe so I could only imagine the power with a ys60! I hear the redline 56 is pretty good too when tuned right.

I forgot to mention I managed to crack both frames in the crash, However I think I will repair them initially, with some 2mm carbon doublers, bolts and epoxy. They both cracked in the same position at the front where TT has milled the cutout for an on/off switch.

Exactly. I bet if that area was not machined out that possibly the frames would have not cracked where they did.

Anywho the repair came out better than expected. Pretty happy with it.

I don't fly 3D but I do have a redline 56H and it has been amazing. I have about 18 gallons through it now and it still does great. It holds a tune great. I only have to give it one or two clicks when the temperature changes. I am using the governor in the AR7200BX and it won't bog at all on tick tocks or rainbows.

What speed sensor are you using for the AR7200? I was going to use the spektrum crank case mount one, but looks a little shady working with my 53.

I am using the Spektrum backplate sensor. It has worked great.
