Default RKH/MH boom clamp hybrid question.

Just ordered the Rakon rear frame pieces to convert my MH boom clamp from Dylan at Astroid. After I did this, I noticed that he also sells 3 mm aluminum boom clamps for the MH frame. Anybody tried these yet? Wondering if this is a legit solution for the junky pieces on the original MH frame? I'm sick of my boom coming loose all the time!

Can you provide a link to these aluminum boom clamps that Dylan sells? I can't find them. I did get these from him :

http://astroid-designs.myshopify.com...mount-adapters

And the rakon 3mm aluminum boom clamp for my MH frame. They work great

No more twisting

I'm so sorry, it's not Dylan, it's tmkarc1hobbies.

Just wondering if these might be the answer to the MH frame?

I am looking into this same issue now and wondering what i should go with for my 3mm boom. I have the MHE-MH-MCPX005 frame so what do i need to get to make my 3mm boom tight. I did order the tail prop for the 120 tail from astriod the other day.

This will mount on your MH frame, and allow you to use the Rakon Heli 3mm Boom Mount.

One way to do it, anyway.

That's the new, updated version of the MH clamp, meant to be used on the as yet to be released newer MH frame. Don't know if it'll fit the older MH frame or not.

Edit: although, the link to that part on tmkarc1 hobbies does say "for MH-MCPX005/B/X" frame, which would at least *suggest* that it can be used with the original, /b, or /x frame....

Anyone know for sure?

Yeah it can be used on the old frame as well as the new one. Totally interchangeable.

Sweet, thanks.

Wonder if it's gonna be any better, or if MH guys are still going to want to go with Dylan's frame adapter to use the RKH boom mount.

Guess we'll find out "Real Soon Now".

Well, I just got the frame adapters for the RKH boom clamp so that's the route I'm going to take I guess.

personally, I think the MH new design is still lacking. It's definitely better than before but the boom clamp is still being held only by 2 screws in contrast to RKH which has 4 screws to hold it to the rear frame. Additionally, the rear frame of RKH and Dylan's are sturdier and thicker than MH. I'm quite content with the RKH rear frame and boom clamp so far.

It'll be better sure, certainly s far as stripping screws out of the delrin block was concerned. The rear frame will still be a slightly weak point imo

+100....I love my Dylan/MH/RKH hybrid boom clamp, but my only complaint is on a "unintentional" tail first landing my 3mm boom got pushed into the servo, which damaged it.

Anyone have any tips for stopping this?????

If you look at the Rakon boom clamp there is a vertical hole. You could possibly try putting a piece of carbon rod in there vertically and securing it with hot glue or something non permanent to stop the tail boom from traveling any farther back.
