Default Logo 800XX or Goblin 770

Guys i am very confuse in what heli will be the correct one for me.

I have 2 months flying helis but with a good progress. (Lots of hours in simulator)

I have a Trex 550E V2 that i am enjoy a lot. I am ready to buy a big heli and i dont know which one of this two helis.

Like the beauty from the 770, the tail noise and colors. I don't like that looks too long (looks like a 700 stretched) I don't know if is too fast for me. Also i am worry about the kind of batteries that can fit in 14S setup.

From Mikado i love the size, plenty space to work with and every body said that is very good quality heli and mikado have more experience on the market. I don't like too much the looking in comparative with Goblin. Also i am worry about parts availability. The flight time is a question also.

I will go with Kontronik 200A, Pyro 800-40L, Vbar, MKS servos in one or the other machine. (Both can use same setup i understand)

What is the pro and the cons for you guys ? I know i am in Mikado forum so ....

When I was looking to buy my next big heli I was torn between the MA Whiplash gasser and the Logo 800. In the end it was the video at Readyheli of Kyle Dahl flying the 800 that made up my mind. Personally I dont really like the looks of the Goblin, but thats me.

We have some Belt issues in our Club with the 770, losing Wohle lot of teeth.

In my opinion the Goblin770 ist more a 700-machine, and the Logo is a REAL 800 size helicopter!

I don't know about parts for the Goblin , but if you need parts for the Xxtreme in the US Ready Heli has them in stock for fast service. This would sway my choice on any Heli. I have a TDR , it's a great machine , when you need parts the freight is expensive & they are slow getting here.

both....

I would go with stock 5035motor on logo 800, or a 4535 or 4540 over the pyro 800.

the pyro 800 is a good motor, but its tiny. the 850 is a bit better, but hard to get so far.

I will put out some videos of stock vs 4535, and pyro 800 etc when weather gets better.

then again, Im powercrazy, so my reccomendations may not be valid.

at 5.9KG I would definetly say the 770 is a big boi.the chassis is very big, its just a narrower canopy, the logo has a huge canopy makeing it look HUGE (awsome!)

The mikado 800 will have more presence in the air. The 770 looks more like a stretched 700.

Why do you say the Pyro 800 isn't a good motor for the XXtreme?? I swapped the stock Scorp out for the Pyro and actually thought it was the better choice. Both pulled about the same from the start BUT the Pyro pulled both Smoother and Longer than the Big scorp did. This was before I sent it off to be hand wound (Waiting on my ESC to get back from Germany to test some more) I am excited to see if there is a noticable differance in power with the Hand Wound Pyro Vs stock

Pyro 800 is a 5020 sized motor vs 5035 stock motor, no hand-winding in the world will make up for that.
Put on a RPM logger and you see the difference.

There isn't a hell of a lot of difference to be honest. The Pyro feels just as powerfull if not more slightly more powerful than the Scorp. I have flown them both (I actually am having problems with the Kosmik right now and it's in Germany getting checked out so I can't really test things)

Maybe it's the Kosmik making up for the Pyro?? (I never flew the Pyro with the YGE ESC) but it defiantly pulls just as hard (If not a little bit harder) and LONGER/smoother than the Scorp. Both start out pulling REALLY well but after that initial surge I could feel a fall off in power from the Scorp that isn't there with the Pyro.

I didn't have a problem with either motor but since I went to the Kosmik I wanted to go with the lighter motor (Since that big honking ESC sitting way out there on the nose makes it harder to balance CG)

Just my .02 though

Talking about Pyro, is the 800-40L better for the 800XX or the 800-48 ?

40. They don't have a pinion out that makes the 48 work. Mine was rewound to 418kv

The reason some may feel the pyro 800 is as strong or better than 5035 has all to do with gov setup headroom, i.e pwm values. Then also lipos being the single bottleneck, so a 800 with good lipos and max pwm values under 100% can indeed outperform a 5035 with not enough headroom and lower c lipos. But its physically impossible for the 800 to deliver 5035 power, use a logger like mr mel said and once you've setup pwm values correctly the difference will be noticeable. But the 800 is a nice motor and light, more in the class of 4525 however

JUST bought and almost built my LOGO 800, awesome heli, everything is spot on, no issues whatsoever with the build.
I have the 770 Goblin and the 800 Trekker, but the Logo puts them to shame in the quality of fit and finish department.
Using Pyro 800-40L motor as I had one doing nothing and it seemed a shame not too lol lol.

Remember to put some grease or oil on the main shaft when storing. Mine was quite rusty after 2 months.
