Default Belt question

Ok so this is my first 90 sized bird with a belt. Truth be told the only other belt driven tail I have ever had was a sport 450 I didn't fly much.

I just finished my maiden flight on my new e7, flies awesome! But when foldin up the blades I noticed a lot of black power on the tail blades and tail case. It seems to be coming from the belt. Now I inspected the belt, doesn't look cracked or frayed.

Is this normal? Have I done something wrong? I followed Matt's tail tension trick on the synergy forums and I don't think it is too tight.

I don't remember having this on my other e7 and I flew it a couple of times before having to sell.

Thoughts?

I've already sent you this answer on the Synergy forum.

It is not normal, make sure that the bottom tail spacer's flat spot is facing up so as the belt does not touch it or just remove this spacer.

Yeah I left that off per the belt tension trick Matt posted.

I am going to spray the belt with silicone and clean it up. If it continues I am Going to order a new belt.

Someone on the synergy forums figured it out. I had the bolt for the rear idler too tight and it wasn't spinning. Belt was burning on it.

Man this hacker motor is insane if I didn't tell by the power and snap. I had no idea I had that bad of a bind. After remembering back, I remember noting the disk slowed after I landed fairly fast. That should have been a clue. I guess I was too busy grinning about having my baby back.

The belt doesn't look bad. Going to put one on my list for spares. But going to spray with silicone, clean up the rubber bits and fly tomorrow.

Yes Superyan711 already had this issue, therefore I'm not surprised he had your solution. Nice to know things are great for you now.
